One reason I am excited about blogging is that it gives me a way to document the kids. Many times I feel too busy or rushed to take pictures and I am hoping this will help me to stop and snap some pics more often. The kids are growing up way too fast and I want to have many pictures to be able to look back on when they are older.
All the weeks seem to run into each other, especially with Ryan in tax-season and not really having weekends. Here are some pics from the past few weeks…….
In our house I like to go all out for holidays ………including all the little ones! For Valentines day I wanted to make the morning special for the kids. Cupid brought the kids little gifts and candy. I made the kids Valentine pancakes that they didn’t even touch because they didn’t like the sprinkles in them…. why do I even try sometimes.
Valentines morning, Alex had donuts with dads at school. All the kids got to share donuts and play bingo with their dads for the first hour of school. Alex has a great time and I am grateful for the staff members that send me pics!
Trent had a great time passing out his Valentines to his class. He was excited that he had to sleep with his bag of Valentines for his class the night before…..boys.
That same week Alex was in her school play. Every year they have a children’s traveling theatre come to the school. The kids audition on Monday, practice every day of the week after school, and then preform that same Friday and Saturday. This is Alex’s second year doing the play and both times she has loved it. This year the play was Rapunzel and Alex was a mushroom. Alex was a little nervous at the beginning but by the time it was her part to dance on stage she had no problem shaken her booty.
The same day of her play we also took the kids to see Disney on Ice. Alex got to bring Brixten and the Miladinovichs came along with us. The kids had a great time but the parents……not so much. I always think its a great idea to go to these things only to get there and remember how long they are and how much everything costs. I mean $15 for an snow cone is crazy! In all we had a good time and the kids had a great time which I guess is most important.
One advantage of Trent being with me most days is that he gets his daily Starbuck fix! This kid loves his Vanilla Bean Frappuccino.
The past week we have been having some amazing weather, especially compared to all the rain we have been getting. We have been trying to take advantage of the nice weather and play outside and go on walks. We took Bailey on her first walk. At first she just wanted to ride in the stroller with Trent but eventually got used to the leash.
The weekends always seen to be crazy busy and go by way too fast, especially with Ryan working! This past weekend was no exception. We started the weekend off with the kids tennis lesson. Both kids (and me) are taking lessons once a week. This particular day Trent got to practice with Alex’s class. It’s fun watching him hit with the older kids.
After tennis we rushed to Alex’s basketball game. This is Alex’s first year playing basketball and to say it has been a challenge is putting it nicely. I don’t think Alex is going to be a basketball player but she is slightly improving and getting more comfortable on the court every week.
From basketball we headed to a birthday party for one of Alex’s little friends.
Saturday night we had some friends over for dinner and enjoyed too much food and drinks!
Sunday was a lot more low-key than Saturday. While the boys stayed home and got some rest, Alex and I got our nails done and did a Costco run. I love doing girly things with Alex and have always known that I would be so lucky to have a little girl who would become my best friend.
The start of a new week means Trent gets to go to Little Ninjas class. Trent loves this new class and asks everyday if its Little Ninja day.
After Little Ninjas Evie got to come with us to run some errands and play. It’s so fun to watch and listen to these little guys! I don’t think I stopped laughing the whole morning with these two.
Alex gets to go to gymnastics on Tuesday and she also loves it! Once again I don’t think she is going to be a gymnast.
Alex got to dress up for school this week for reading appreciation week. For crazy hat day she sported her minnie mouse hat and for favorite book character day she was Fancy Nancy.
We are ready and excited for another busy fun weekend!! Hope you have had a great week!
